Carly Gagne is a rising sophomore majoring in management with an emphasis in hospitality at Georgia Southern University.
"I am a Statesboro local, so when I was a little girl I spent a lot of my summers at Splash in the Boro. My family has always spent Memorial Day weekend at the waterpark, because it is typically the first weekend of the summer. Although we are older now, we still come here for Memorial Day weekend, because it is a nostalgic memory and tradition for our family."

John Williams is a commercial truck driver here in Statesboro. John has been driving commercial trucks for over 20 years.

"The favorite thing I like about my job is the flexibility, I get to choose my own hours and come home to my family everyday," said Williams.

"I just got back to Statesboro today. I spent the past three weeks in North Carolina, but I had to come back to Statesboro for summer classes."

Kdsan Habtemariam takes some time for herself at Ponce City Market while visiting family in Atlanta. She recently graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in business administration and now lives in Seattle. "It's always nice to come and visit family back home and was definitely long overdue," Kdsan said.

Daniel Ramirez is a barista at Starbucks in Douglas, GA.

"I was so happy to hear my small town was getting a Starbucks. I have always been a coffee lover, some would say coffee addict. I knew I wanted to get the experience of working in a coffee shop but Douglas never had any openings at the other coffee shops. Working at Starbucks in a small town is nice because people are happy to get their coffee of the day whether it is early risers or night shift workers".

Guard Jahmere Moore sizes up her defender. Moore is an upcoming sophomore in high school and played varsity for Heritage High School. 
Chloe Branch shoots her free throw. Branch finished with 8 points for Atlanta Peak on the game. 
Amara Symone drives on the defender in an attempt to draw contact. Symone is an upcoming sophomore for Heritage High School. 
Amara Symone drives in for a breakaway layup. Symone leads the Lady Head Hunters in scoring with an average of 18 points per game. 
The Lady Head Hunters celebrating an and1 by Dina Stephens. Stephens is the starting power forward for the Lady Head Hunters. 
Lillian Gonzalez steals the ball from her opponent and races down the court. Gonzalez averages eight points for the Lady Head Hunters. 
Amara Symone attacks the Atlanta Peak's zone. Symone finshed with 11 points on the game. 
Amara Symone dribbles down the court after receiving an outlet pass. Saturday's game vs Atlanta Peak was Symone's first game back from an ankle injury she suffered in the Lady Head Hunter's last tournament. 


Amara Symone shoots the three pointer after the defense sags off. Symone is currently shooting 23% from beyond the arc over the AAU season. 
The Lady Head Hunters scramble to get back in position on defense. The Lady Head Hunters were on the wrong end of a 33-10 run after starting the game ahead 10-0.
Dinah Stephens raises up for the midrange jumper. Stephens is the second leading scorer for the Lady Head Hunters with an average of 12 points per game. 
The Atlanta Peak secures the rebound. The Atlanta Peak outrebounded the Lady Head Hunters 33-14 on the game. 
Janiyah Thomas running back on defense. Thomas is a sophomore that played junior varsity for Eastside High School in Newton, GA.  


The Lady Head Hunters gather together during the timeout. The Head Hunters are currently on a three-game losing streak. 
Lillian Gonzalez does her free throw routine. Garcia has been acting as starting point guard while Symone has been out with injury. 

The Lady Head Hunters gather their things after losing to the Atlanta Peak 51-43. This was the second matchup between the Peak and Lady Head Hunters on the weekend. The Atlanta Peak won both games.
