[PHOTOSTORY 3 : ADITL] A Day in the Life of an Aspiring Musician Postgrad

Rebecka Moreno, aspiring musician, graduated from Georgia Southern University in May of 2021. Moreno was the only female in her graduating class with a B.S in Physics.

Rebecka Moreno starts her day around 9 a.m. by making her bed. "I'm not sure why I wake up so early when I have nothing to do, it's my anxiety I guess," said Moreno.

Rebecka Moreno browses through the remaining clothes she has hanging in her closet. Moreno's apartment lease ends at the end of the month and she has only begun to pack.

Rebecka Moreno reaches for a duffel bag to begin packing clothing items away. "I'm trying to keep as much clothing as possible in this bag for the month so there's not a lot to pack when I move," said Moreno.

Rebecka Moreno logs into her computer to check her Georgia Southern graduate admissions account. Moreno has been accepted into the online master's program for computer science but doesn't think she will pursue that program.

Rebecka Moreno logs into her University of Tennessee graduate admissions portal. Moreno is hoping to get accepted into the master's program for physics to be closer to the Nashville music scene but is unsure of her chances of being admitted.

Rebecka Moreno practices her song writing skills on her audio board system. Moreno has been performing solo shows for almost 6 years now and has a released single on Spotify titled "Me and You".

Rebecka Moreno records an audio track on her system. "Song writing is something I'm so passionate about so starting my day off this way really keeps me motivated," said Moreno.

Rebecka Moreno practices some chords on her guitar. Moreno plans to release another single on Spotify at the end of the summer.

Rebecka Moreno stands at her kitchen sink, washing dishes. "A lot of people hate doing dishes, but it's one of my favorite household chores," said Moreno.

Along with being a musician, Rebecka Moreno also enjoys keeping up with a variety of plants. This shelf is only a small showcase of Moreno's plants.

Rebecka Moreno adds soil to a plant clipping she has recently propagated. "I found this plant by my apartment about 4 months ago and took a clipping to propagate. I don't know what it is but it's pretty low maintenance," said Moreno.

Rebecka Moreno shows off her thriving plant clipping. "Since I can't have pets, I feel like I'm actually doing something by keeping this little guy alive," said Moreno.

Rebecka Moreno repots her plant clipping and waters it. "Wherever I go when I move, I really hope I'm able to take all of my plants," said Moreno.

Rebecka Moreno has created a mural wall in her apartment. So far, she has painted some large mushrooms with vinery and a very realistic moon.

Rebecka Moreno touches up the lines of a mushroom she has painted on her mural wall. "I've been working on this project for a while. It gives me a sense of calm to just paint and forget everything going on for a while," said Moreno.

Rebecka Moreno admires the progress she has made on her mural wall. "It's going to break my heart moving out of here because I'm sure the apartment complex will ask me to paint over it," said Moreno.

Rebecka Moreno decides to find a book to read to relax for the rest of the day. She decides to go with "The Inferno" by Dante Alighieri.

Rebecka Moreno relaxes on her couch with a book. "It may seem boring but this is what I will most likely do for the rest of the day. I love getting lost in a book," said Moreno.
