[Photostory 3: A Day in the Life] The Cool Side of Healthcare

Ally Balzano stares at her laptop as she inputs patient's information into her company's medical system. Balzano helps run a company called My Nurse Now. 

Balzano plugs her charger into her computer. Balzano works in My Nurse Now's office located in Savannah, Georgia. Sometimes, she works overtime, spending late hours in her office as pictured above.

Balzano rubs her hand against her temple to relieve tension. Balzano runs the company, but Scott and Amy Pierce are the owners of My Nurse Now. My Nurse Now is a company that was created because of their growing company called Coastal Care Partners.  

Balzano stretches to relieve as looks through the company's documents. Balzano works Monday to Friday along with her coworkers who also work in the same building as her. My Nurse Now focuses on appointing more advanced healthcare services to their patients such as on-call doctor, nurses, and many more services, 

Balzano looks through her phone to dial a patient's phone number to give them their Covid-19 test result. My Nurse Now started doing Covid-19 tests and vaccines when the pandemic started. Balzano handles the paperwork such as dealing with the lab work and communicating with people to deliver their test results.

Balzano talks on the phone with their patient to inform them of their test results. "I always hate to deliver bad news. But I have had people who I had to tell them that they were positive. And it ruins their plans and now they aren't able to go on a vacation trip or prom or, you know. It's hard, but I have to do it."

Balzano types on her laptop. When Balzano first started working for the Pierce's, she was a caregiver for Coastal Care Partners, which deals with giving caregiving services to people in their homes. After a year of working there, she was promoted to now running their new company, My Nurse Now. 

Balzano closes the drawer to her desk. Even though she works during the weekday, she still has to deal with work relations on her days off such as scheduled Covid-19 vaccine clinics or tests and etc. 

Balzano scrolls through her laptop. Even though her job is exhausting, she still loves it. She was given a chance to go to Atlanta to do a vaccine clinic at three different film studies. 

Atlanta, GA during late afternoon hours. The owners, the Pierce's, selected a small group of people to join them on their business trip to Atlanta, GA to administrate vaccines to the film studios' crew members. 

My Nurse Now's team drives through the security entrance for Cinelease studios - Three Ring. Cinelease studios is located in Convington. This studio is filming First Lady, which features Viola Davis. The small group of healthcare workers were allowed to tour the set as well as watch Davis film a scene for the series, First Lady.

The infamous clock tower in Covington, GA. During their break between film studios, the team visited square in Covington, GA. This is where Vampire Diaries was filmed, which is a favorite show amongst some of the nurses. 

My Nurse Now's team drives through Black Hall Studios. The studio is located in Atlanta, Georgia. Black Hall Studios were currently filming the series Step Up

The film studio was quiet while their crew members of the film studio were getting vaccinated in the middle of their shift. The Pierce's wanted to ensure that whoever wanted the vaccine was able to get the vaccine wherever they were. And so, they set up vaccine clinics at people's jobs to vaccinate their employees. 

Viola Davis' trailer sits outside of the film location. The My Nurse Now's team saw her walk to her trailer as well as watched her film a scene for her new series. First Lady focuses on the presidential family of the Obamas specifically Michelle Obama, hence First Lady.

Brown prepares for their first person to receive the Covid-19 vaccine of the day. Brown works for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Amy Pierce asked her to help administer vaccines while she was in the area.

Michaela Thomas checks her phone while the rest of the My Nurse Now's team prepares for their first person. People scheduled appointments for the vaccine, but the owners did not turn anyone away that wanted a vaccine and was eligible for it. 

An airplane flies over the Atlanta area. My Nurse's Now team was able to meet 50 cent along with many more actors/actresses on set as they were at the film location that they were filming at.
