[PHOTOSTORY 3: A DAY IN THE LIFE] Starbucks Partners at work

Morning dew sits on the glass at Starbucks, located inside of the Russell Union, at 8:10 a.m. The Russell Union's Starbucks has adjusted hours for the summer semester, though that still has not stopped customers from stopping by.

Katie Heggwood, Geology Major, starts her day searching for things that need to be cleaned in the kitchen area. Heggwood's favorite drink is a vanilla sweet cream cold brew, which she tried about two weeks ago.


Minh Nguyen, Supervisor, checks the register for cash before customers begin to come in. Nguyen was born in Vietnam and moved to the States when she was 15.

An empty table at Starbucks, with a worker working in the background. Many times students will sit at these tables to do homework, drink coffee, socialize or a combination of all three, though this has been limited by the COVID-19 Pandemic.

During a slight lull in the volume of customers, Jared Linton, Business Major, writes a cheat sheet for different drink combinations. Linton is approaching his senior year at Georgia Southern University.

Macy Spears wipes down the counter. Spears recently graduated with a Bachelors in Civil Engineering.

Half filled flavor pumps sit on the counter at around 12:40 p.m. Starbucks' Funnel cake flavor (left, pink) was added to their menu on May 11th, as noted on the Starbucks website under stories.

Jonathan Hoopaugh, Psychology Major, wipes the counters down near the end of the business day. Hoopaugh is a full time staff member for Auxiliary Services and a student at Georgia Southern University.

Jared Linton, Business Major, vacuums the oven. Along with their assortment of drinks, Starbucks also has an assortment of food items listed on their menu as well.
