[PHOTOSTORY 4: STRUGGLE] Getting Older

Dennis Atcheson, 82, recently broke his foot and deals with many health issues. Despite his age and health, he still tries to be active throughout his home.

Mr. Atcheson works in his front yard raking leaves. In the spring and summer, he loves to work in his front yard and is always doing new things to it.

Mr. Atcheson continues to rake leaves and upkeep the landscaping. In the Summer, he likes to wake up early in the mornings before it gets too hot to work outside.

Mr. Atcheson looks at his work and figures out what he needs to do next. He says that even though he is getting older, he enjoys being outside and will continue to do this for as long as he can. 

Dennis heads back inside because of the rising temperatures. Working out in his yard is his favorite thing to do. 

Mr. Atcheson browses with the remote to see what is on TV. He loves to watch golf, football, and baseball. 

Dennis continues to look around for a good show to watch. Mr. Atcheson also enjoys historic documentaries and movies.

Dennis goes into the kitchen in another part of his home. Him and his wife are currently remodeling their kitchen and dining area. 

Mr. Atcheson washes his hands and prepares to get something to eat. Their renovation is set to be done around mid-July. 

Dennis finishes washing his hands and a few dishes. He says that they have been wanting to re-do their kitchen for year, but haven't had the time until now.

Dennis opens his refrigerator hoping to find a snack. His favorite types of food are pizza and Mexican food.

Dennis talks with his wife Wanda. They have been married for almost 40 years.

Dennis gets out a watermelon to cut up. Watermelons are his favorite type of fruit.

Mr. Atcheson heads out to his back deck to check on his plants. Him and his wife enjoy planting in the summertime. 

Dennis points out what kinds of plants he has. He says they hope to get more before the season ends. 

Mr. Atcheson enjoys his time out on his back deck, The couple have a large backyard with a deck that leads out to a pool.

Dennis checks a lightbulb on their string lights they have hanging outside. When it's dark out, the lights light up, making for a pretty scenery.

Mr. Atcheson looks around to see what needs to be worked on in the backyard. He enjoys being outdoors and loves keeping his home looking "home-y."

Dennis heads back inside as it starts to rain. He tries to make it outside once per day to fix what he can because it makes him feel productive.

Mr. Atcheson ends his day by catching up on his favorite TV shows. He says this is his favorite chair in his house because its very comfortable and it reclines.
