The Hinesville downtown Farmers Market is every Thursday from 3 to 7pm. It’s held in Gap Park and many visitors walk from downtown businesses to support. |
Leah poole, 41, walks through downtown Hinesville to get to Gap Park. “I try to come out every Thursday to support our downtown area and the local businesses that have booths,” Poole says. |
This is what the downtown Farmers Market looks like if you get there a little early. Some vendors haven’t arrived yet, but shoppers are already flowing in. |
Poole walks to the booth with fresh cut flowers. This booth has many different kinds of wild, locally grown floral arrangements and potted plants. |
This is the local produce stand run by Bishop Hagan. They have a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables each week. |
A fan favorite that Mr.Hagan sells are his fresh cooked boiled peanuts! Hagan gets them ready by filling up his bucket with water to pour in the pot he used to boil the peanuts. |
A customer comes up and orders a large bag of his boiled peanuts. He takes the lid off of his pot, so that he can scoop them out. |
Mr.Hagan dips his scooper into the boiling water in order to grab some peanuts. He has to let the water drain off. |
He then pours the strained peanuts from the scooper into the plastic cup. He says that he likes to make sure the cup is filled all the way to the top! |
Hagan makes his way over to the table he has set up with the bags. He grabs a bag so that he can pour the peanuts into it. |
Now he transfers the peanuts to a plastic ziplock bag. Once they’re in the Ziplock bag, the peanuts are ready to hand over to the customer! |
He likes to let customers taste the peanuts to make sure they’re seasoned well enough. He says that it is good business to let customers try out the product before purchasing. |
Customers are walking up and waiting in line to visit the Sabores de Puerto Rico booth. They are at the market each week selling delicious Puerto Rican cuisine! |
Poole makes her way back forwards the Gap Park entrance. She’s pretty hot and ready to head back to her car. |
She stops to check out some more produce. She hands the money over to the owner of the booth, because she decided to purchase some blueberries! |
Poole has made her way out of Gap Park. She’s walking back to her vehicle, so she can get into the air conditioner. |
Poole poses for the camera with some of her goodies that she got from the Farmers Market. “I think these are my best finds yet,” she says. |
