Originally the building was a Buster's the siblings worked at as teenagers. In 2019, the two decided to purchase the establishment. 

There are over 50 flavors of ice cream that come from a distributor. Vegan options, nondairy Italian ice, and dessert toppings like brownies are available.

Customers read over the menu, deciding what ice cream flavor to choose out of 50. "The only thing is ice cream is seasonal," said Bazemore. "Usually, November thru February is slow, but May thru October is a lot faster."

While many companies struggled during the height of the pandemic, Double Scoop strived. "Drive-thru honestly saved us. I feel like "ur drive-thru makes us kinda Covid-pandemic proof," said Bazemore. "People were tired of sitting in the house, so they would come out to get ice cream, giving people a break from quarantine." 

Right before closing, a woman brings her grandchildren to double scoop for the first time. She proceeds to place an order of one sundae, four small ice cream cups, and one waffle cone.

With so many flavors to choose from, employees need to have product knowledge. Bazemore says most of their sundaes have specific toppings to ensure the correct taste, so employees must pay attention to what they're making. 

Raydrain, 7, throws up the peace sign while holding his praline ice cream in a waffle cone. "This is some of the best ice cream I ever had," said Raydrain. 

Raydrain joins the rest of his siblings as they gather around each other, eating ice cream. What a perfect way to end the day.
