Mark (left) and Liz (right) going to get a box of canned goods for Ms. Maria. These two have been working here for over 7 years, and 5 months at this location.
Ms. Johnson taking the empty boxed to be dumped in the dump. Ms Johnson part-time volunteers here while taking care of children in her apartment complex.
Volunteer at the food pantry trying to operate the box machine. "I don't know how to work this thing" said the Volunteer.
Ms. Johnson unloading the carts that were just loaded up by the forklift driver. "I love to serve others, that's my why for being here" said Ms. Johnson.
A bulletin board that has been with them from the very beginning. "This board means so much to us because in the bottom right, that's who started this whole thing" said Liz.
Mark loading up a customer's car with canned goods. "its a blessing to be a blessing" said Mark.
The canned goods inventory. "Its time to expand to a bigger location" said mark
Mark showing me the only storage they have left for the inventory. "After this little warhorse thingy is full, we have no where to put anything, this is why I encourage people to come get this FREE FOOD" said mark.
The medicine section of the inventory. "we try to cover all bases, with EBT you get just food and not hygiene, medicine, or clothes. So we try to give it all away to those who really need it" said Liz
The variety of items given away at this food pantry. "We do more than just feed people, we try our absolute hardest to provide for those who don't have it financially" said Liz
Liz showing me the clothes that they collect from stores that are going out of business and just try to throw away. "if I see a store closing I try to get everything they are trying to get rid of so that I can bless the less fortunate" said Liz
The waiting room to the food pantry. "today we are slow but that's just how It is on Fridays" said Mark
A current breakdown of the numbers for the Food pantry. "as you see in June we served 710 families, I hate that you came on our slow day" laughed Mark
Mark sitting in his office. "I usually never get a chance to sit down, but today we are crazy slow my man I'm sorry" said mark.
Mr. Smith loads up on bread from the food pantry. "I have about 20 families I come here and collect food for because of their lack of transportation I have no problem getting it for me" said Mr. Smith
The conveyor belt that makes work a lot simpler when it comes to making the heavy boxes of food around. "I'm too old to be hauling boxes around baby" said Ms. Johnson
Jeff on another tool that helps us move these heavy boxes of food. Jeff comes and volunteers to work the forklift every Thursday, that's when the shipment comes in.
Liz offering me food and knowledge. "The way to a mans heart is through his stomach, my momma taught me that when I was younger" said Liz
The preordered section of canned goods. "These carts are made up already for those who have already pre ordered the canned foods, hygiene and other stuff" said Mark.
