Bulloch County Animal Shelter houses and protects stray animals. It is located on Mill Creek Rd. |
When you walk in there is a poster board up that says "It's a beautiful day to save animals." This is one of the first things that you see when walking in. |
Alexus Bazemore works here and helps bring strays in. She has a strong love for animals. |
Bazemore is holding one of the cats at the shelter named Binx. "There's a lot of strays in Statesboro, so we try and do everything we can in order to find them a nice loving home," said Bazemore. |
Bazemore is placing Binx back in her area. Binx usually stays up front with the workers. |
The shelter has several walls with designs and messages painted on them. Some say welcome, while others are just pictures of animals. |
This paper is placed on the door that leads into the holding area for the animals. These dogs have been at the shelter for over 3 months. |
This is Chleo, a stray that was recently found just wandering the street. She has been here for 19 days. |
This is the adoption room. When adopting a pet, you can take them in here and take pictures or play with them. |
There are several toys and items in the adoption room. Multiple scratching posts are in here. |
This background wallpaper showcases a nice beach. It is used in pictures taken with the animal. |
There are treats in the room for the animals. However, each dog can only get one. |
Chleo is playing with one of the toys. The lavender bucket is filled with toys for the animals. |
Chleo begins to move away from the basket. The room is spacious and allows for her to lie down and stretch out. |
She sits down and looks into the distance. She is very well trained and will sit on command. |
Chleo looks at the camera. Bazemore says that she is very shy. |
There is a small trash can in the room. Chleo is looking for something in it. |
Chleo is getting ready to head back to her cage. She is just waiting to be picked up by a loving family. |
