About me:
Hey photo friends, my name is Dr. Jeffrey Riley. I teach journalism here at Georgia Southern University. I started at Georgia Southern in fall 2017, coming from a three-year teaching stint at Florida Gulf Coast University. I was born-and-raised in the central Florida area and was a freelance reporter in-and-around Orlando. Ok, it was actually Seminole County, but whatever. Back when I was freelancing, I learned that I could make extra money if I also shot the photos to go with my own stories. I wish I could say I learned how to shoot out of some noble ideological cause -- I just wanted a little extra beer money. It wasn't until I started doing photojournalism for cash that I realized "Oh hey, I really enjoy doing this." From then on out, I shot for every story I wrote, no matter if they ran the shots or not, I liked doing it too much. And now, here I am, teaching a new generation of folks to see the world through a camera.
