Out Fishin’ by: John Shaw

We start out the day by the first mate (yours truly) driving out to the fishing spot. This is a good day for a trip.
Here is a picture of Nic Walsh. He doesn’t know what is in store for him today.
This is Champ. He is our official boat dog.
Ben Thompson is an avid fisherman. He is waiting on his first juicy fish.
Evan Roe is keeping watch. He is looking for other boats ahead.

Ben Thompson awaits his second fish. He catches a mangro snapper.
Our Captain here (Patrick Vereen) is cutting up artificial bait. This is to attract smaller fish.
Evan Roe, wants to give the camera a hug. He has just reeled in a bull shark!
Capt. Vereen is finished cutting up artificial bait. Now ready for use.
We see a few fish on the depth finder. We are attempting to find a good spot.
We have found a good spot. First mate Shawis trying to put us on the spot.
We are off! Ready to do some BIG fishing. This is for larger fish.
We see some fish in the water. Be careful!
Here comes a cobia to disrupt the school. They all flee.
We see another boat here! They must have had the same idea.
This is what we call a sebiki rig. The has multiple hooks in one line.
We hook up the subiki with shrimp. This is the mangro snappers’ lunch.
Thompson shows us his catch. Decent size!

We are headed back now after a long days work with little sleep. We are beat, ready for some food, and to go to sleep.
