[PHOTOSTORY 2] Golf Has Motion Too

A driver lined up to hit the ball. This is the starting point of every shot, where the motion begins.

Riley Maleitzke a recent Georgia Southern playing his last round in Statesboro. Riley has been playing golf on and off for a few years but has recently fallen back in love with the game. 


Riley lines up his first tee shot of the round. Driving is the best part of his game so he feels very confident with this shot. 

Riley starting his swing with a driver. Riley has a very fast swing speed as seen with the blur, this allows for very powerful shots. 

Riley admiring his shot. After the club makes contact he stares on and twirls the club in celebration.

Riley finishes his pre-shot routine by addressing the ball for his approach. It is important to have a pre-shot routine to ensure consistent swings. 

Riley getting ready to putt his ball into the hole. He has been working on this part of his game for a long time because it is where the scoring happens. 

Riley on the start of his downswing. The goal with this shot is more finesse than power as there is a lot of trouble ahead. 

Riley attempting hit the green in regulation. He has been swinging well but one wrong move puts him into the water. 

Riley following through with his approach shot. Riley says following through is one thing he has struggled with in the past but he has gotten over it recently.

Riley on the tee box ready to swing hard. After that missed putt he puts back into this shot and blasts it down the fairway. 

Riley glances at the green to begin his routine. He does this to get a good idea of how hard he needs to swing. 

Riley walks in his putt on hole 16. This is something golfers do when they have a feeling they hit a good putt. 

Riley walking around to see where to aim and hit the ball. He has some obstacles ahead so it is important to see all aspects of the chip. 

Riley chips the ball toward the green on hole 18. Unfortunately he goes under the ball and it just barely gets on, making it a tough putt to finish. 
Riley intensely looking at his birdie putt. He was left with 20 to 25 feet on this final par 5. 

Riley taking out the flag stick for his shot. This allows for the hole to be more exposed in case he hits it on line. 

Riley hitting his final putt of the round. While he did not make it his hard work has paid off and he has a tap in par for a score of 86.
