[PHOTOSTORY 3: ADITL] Flower Enthusiast

By: Halle Sasser

Morgan Joseph, a hobby gardener, goes into Lowe's Garden Center to look at flowers. "I always come here to get my gardening supplies because they have so many options in different price ranges," said Joseph.

Morgan Joseph stops to smell flowers at Lowe's. Joseph only likes to get flowers that she thinks smells good.

Morgan Joseph evaluates the quality of the flowers. "You need to make sure the flwers are growing well in the containers, so they grow well in the pot," said Joseph.
Morgan Joseph evaluates more flowers in hopes to find some to plant. Joseph picks flowers that she knows will grow well in high temperatures.
Morgan Joseph picks up a container of flowers, but did not buy them. "I want to make sure the flowers go well with the ones I have planted at home," claimed Joseph.

Morgan Joseph picks out a new gardening tool to add to her collection. Joseph prioritizes having good tools that will help her with multiple outdoor projects.

Morgan Joseph picks up a new bag of potting soil. "I always get this brand since it is reasonably priced. Just because something is less expensive does not mean it does not work as well," said Joseph.

Morgan Joseph fills up her watering can. Joseph waters her flowers every other day to keep them properly hydrated.

Morgan Joseph waters her potted flowers. Joseph planted these two months ago and has seen much growth in them.

Morgan Joseph waters her smaller potted flowers. "I have a harder time keeping these looking good, and I. have not figured out why yet," said Joseph.

Morgan Joseph uses the water hose to water her newly planted zinnia seeds. "I am giving extra attention to these sprouts, because some of them are not growing as fast as they should be," claimed Joseph.

Morgan Joseph examines the growth in her growing flowers. "I can tell this bunch is about to bloom, but it concerns me that they are growing sideways. I need to fix that," says Joseph.

Morgan Joseph puts on her gardening gloves. Wearing gloves while gardening protects hands from small wounds, bacteria, fungi, and other hazards.

Morgan Joseph disperses more zinnia seeds in her flower beds. This is the last window to plant seeds that have a chance of sprouting due to the temperature.

Morgan Joseph examines dead leaves on her growing flowers. "I come out here and check everyday if the the leaves are wilting, so I can figure out how to stop it," said Joseph.

Morgan Joseph adds fresh soil on her planted zinnia seeds. Even though these seeds were properly planted weeks ago, Joseph adds more soil to keep things fresh.

Morgan Joseph adds more soil to the seeds she just spread out. "I do not want the seeds just sitting on top of the old soil in case they get disturbed," said Joseph.

Morgan Joseph ends her gardening session by trimming the hedges. "I have to do this every week since they grow so fast, and I hate when they are not trimmed," exclaimed Joseph.
