[PHOTOSTORY 4: STRUGGLE] Encompass Ministries Saves Lives

Today I'm visiting Encompass Ministries. This is a local non-profit in my area.

I'm walking into the food pantry. Encompass Ministries was established back in 1998 as Papa's Pantry Incorporated.

This is Encompass's bus that helps them when picking up and delivering donations.  Encompass Ministries changed their name from Papa's Pantry in 2019 because they began doing a lot more than providing just food.

This is Encompass's logo. They adopted this logo when they changed their name in 2019 due to the fact what they do "encompasses" more than just a food pantry.

The Founder/Executive Director of Encompass Ministries, Lynne Saunders, is working at her desk. Lynne started Encompass after a mission trip to India where she saw people at their deepest point of need.

This is the current Encompass staff. Pictured is Valeri Walker, Faith Moody, Nick Mikell and Lynne Saunders.

People come in and add to the prayer wall when they visit. Encompass is a Christian based non-profit.

Encompass is an inspiring and supporting organization. Not only do they provide food for the hungry but they also provide employment strategies and life skills training.

People are donating food to Encompass daily. They have so many options for produce.

Most of their donations come from hosting food drives. But you can also stop by during business hours to donate food.

Donating food is available Monday & Friday 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Tuesday-Thursday 9:30 a.m. -4:30 p.m. They have an assortment of baked goods.

Lynne and a volunteer are opening up donation boxes. Lots of people that are retired or unemployed volunteer their time here.

Shelves are filling up with canned and boxed goods. Encompass will put certain goods they are in need of being donated if they are running low on certain products.

Encompass hangs up many inspirational posters in their organization. This can be very inspiring for the people who seek help here.

Encompass aslo has volunteers donating clothing as well. They are stocked with all kinds of different clothing for different ages.

Here they have girls purses, notebooks and journals. Encompass will accept most donations as long as the products are in decent condition.

Encompass even has halloween costumes for children available. Encompass has a large community that is constantly supporting it and donating to it.

Here there is a whole shelf full of cleaning supplies. Encompas goes above and beyond your normal food pantry.

Encompass is taking volunteer at this time. All you have to do is go on their website and sign up or call Encompass.
