Holly McDonald is getting ready for work. She has been working at Dingus Magee's for over two years.
McDonald is doing some final hair touches. "How my hair looks normally reflects how I will feel that night," she says.
McDonald is getting in her car to head to work. She always leaves earlier than needed to make sure she arrives on time.
McDonald is walking into Dingus Magee's. She is ready to start her shift.
McDonald clocks in as soon as she arrives. "If I don't clock in at the very beginning, I usually forget until way later in the night which isn't good," she says.
Now McDonald is starting to re-stock the bar. She ensures there is plenty of beer, liquor, straws, and napkins.
McDonald begins to cut limes. This is the last thing she does since it normally is the messiest.
Ashlyn Farley (server) is patiently waiting for a bartender to make her table's drinks. Farley was the first server to get a table after the restaurant opened.
McDonald is making those drinks right away. She is making "Dead Turtles", a Dingus classic.
Customers are beginning to slowly trickle in. Some are taking it slow, while others start off with shots right away.
McDonald is cashing out a customer. She says, "Pulling money can be tricky since it's an older system, but once you've got it down it isn't too terrible."
McDonald is making her favorite drink, a Kentucky Mule. The restaurant is getting busier as time goes by.
Kenny Owens just finished setting up for karaoke! "Thursday's always pop off since we've started doing karaoke," he says.
Maggie Brengle has joined McDonald at the bar. Due to the large crowd, multiple bartenders are needed on Thursday nights.
A Dingus regular, Mason Avant, is ready to start drinking. Most bartenders know his order by now.
McDonald is making shots non-stop. The crowd is still rolling in.
Brengle and McDonald are getting a lot of draft beer pitcher orders now. Customers are loving the deals.
McDonald is continuously taking orders. Customers are crowded around the bar, leaving hardly any space to walk.
Last call is done and it is time to start cleaning. It is past 1 a.m. and everyone is exhausted.
McDonald's last task is to clock out. She can't wait to get home and get in bed.
