[PHOTOSTORY 3: MOTION]: NIRSA BASKETBALL EVENT

 


NC State player attempts to block a Georgia Southern player shot. This is the second round of the NIRSA basketball event hosted by Georgia Southern.


Central Florida shoots player shoots a free throw after being fouled. This event brung in 15 different universities from the women's and 16 from the men's division. 


University of Georgia Bulldogs Club guard fights for the ball from a University of South Florida Bulls guard. The bulldogs didn't want give the Bulls any chance of making a comeback later in the 4th quarter.

NC State and a Georgia Southern player going for a lose ball. Throughout each court, all the players were competing hard to win the series in their groups.

A Georgia College and State player looks to pass to a teammate during a fast break. The women's club games received the most entertainment from viewers, as many of the players had their family members come and show support.

Georgia College and State player attacks the rim off a screen set by her teammate. The Yellow Jackets and the Bobcats played a very physical game, with the Bobcats ultimately pulling out the win by three points.

Georgia Southwestern Canes forward Kameron Johnson, gets his feet wrapped by a NIRSA athletic trainer. All player who attended the event made sure they met with an athletic trainer before their game to make sure they are ready.

Refrees talking before games to make sure everyone is on the same page with their assignments. The referees were recruited from across the country to help develop them in their careers.

Georgia Southwestern State Canes Guard, Isaiah Archie puts up a contested layup against Georgia Southern Scramu Center, Ladis Ross. Ross was very active on both sides of the court at all levels, and he wears #34 because Shaquille O'Neal is one of his favorite players.

Guard, Zaharius Baker shoots his free throw after being fouled. Scramu and the Canes were going traded the score lead throughout the first three quarters.

Both teams coming back on to the court after the Canes timeout. Canes Head coach Kristin Frantz, told her players how important is to not let up and stay aggressive towards the end of this quarter


Isaiah Archie comes out aggressively attacking Guard Dekerteyia Craig out of the timeout. Archie is close friends with Georgia Southerns guard Destiny Garrett.

Georgia Southern Scramu bench players and fans watches them play. #9 Christjen Johnson was very vocal throughout the stretch of the game when he wasn't playing.

 

Guard, Antwaun Prince falls down after he went for a layup. Prince was the primary point guard for the Canes and the team hoped the injury wasn't anything serious.

Canes forward Kameron Johnson gets subbed in for Prince injury. Head Coach Kristin Frantz, put Johnson in the game because they needed height to help end the game against Scramu.

Antwaun Prince gets his ankle wrapped by one of the NIRSA athletic trainers. Prince was able to make make it back on the court to help his team fight to make it to the next round of the series.

Dekerteyia Craig goes for a steal on an inbound pass. Scramu found themselves down fast in the third quarter, with them being down by 15 points.


Ramon Perry puts up a mid-range pull up shot towards the end of the third quarter. Ramon Perry plays basketball at the Georgia Southern RAC daily with some of his teammates and other friends.

Georgia Southwestern State Canes takes a group photo after their 65-44 victory against Georgia Southern Scramu. The Canes advanced to the next round, and their head coach, Kristin Frantz, reminded them to stay focused and, most importantly, have fun.
