This is the front of the barn at Evermore Farms. Evermore Farms is where the Georgia Southern Equestrian team practices.
Ally and her horse she is riding today walking to the arena to practice. Ally rides western for the Georgia Southern team.
Ally is now warming up her horse with a walk. She has to walk her horse before she can do things more complex to get him ready for practice.
Now Ally has entered into a trot. A trot is the gate that is after a walk.
Now Ally has entered a canter. A canter is the gate after a trot and is a lot faster.
Now she is warming by trotting over poles. This is very helpful because it gets her and her horse warmed up for jumping.
Now both Ally's are trotting around the ring. Both of them practice in same arena even though they ride different disciplines.
Ally is now going over her first jump on the day. This is called a cross rail, it gets it's name from looking like an x.
Now Ally has entered a canter. A canter is the gate after a trot and is a lot faster.
This is another girl who is also named Ally. She rides English and is currently tightening her girth so her saddle stays in place.
Now Ally is entering the arena for her practice. She is on a very large bay colored horse.
Ally is now waring up her horse with a trot. Today she is practicing in their big arena they have which is surrounded by pastures.Now she is warming by trotting over poles. This is very helpful because it gets her and her horse warmed up for jumping.
Now both Ally's are trotting around the ring. Both of them practice in same arena even though they ride different disciplines.
Ally is practicing her canter more. She wants to perfect her equitation before an upcoming show.
Ally is still cantering around the ring. She has gorgeous green pastures and trees in her background.
Both Allys are now by the fence taking a break. It was a very hot day at practice so a break was very needed for them and their horses.
Now Ally is cantering through the middle of the Arena. She is practicing different patterns because she competes western pleasure.Ally is now going over her first jump on the day. This is called a cross rail, it gets it's name from looking like an x.
Ally is now going over another jump that is faced diagonally across the arena. This is called a vertical cause the poll is going straight across.
Ally is now going over another vertical. This jump is the closest to the side of the ring and is phased straight.
Ally is now jumping another cross rail. She is jumping this one the other direction than she has jumped the others.
Ally is now jumping a barrel type of jump. She said she did this for fun because her horse used to do cross country which would mean he jumped things of that nature frequently.
