[ PHOTOSTORY 3] World Of Sports: Pickle-ball

 By: Rayne Deese

Play ball! Forest Heights Country Club offers pickle-ball courts for members to play on.

Aidan Stacy, Maggie Baker, Maggie Jaekel, and Aubrey Hardin take on the court for a quick game of pickle-ball. Each of them tap their paddles and decide which team will get the first serve.

Maggie Jaekel and Maggie Baker get ready to play the first serve. Both of them have to decide who wants to serve the ball first to start the game.

Aidan Stacy prepares to return the ball. In order for a return to be allowed, Aidan has to let the ball bounce once before hitting it back to the other team.

Aidan swings her arm back to begin her backswing. In order for her to hit the ball within the court lines, she has to make sure she does not swing her paddle back too far.

Aidan finishes her return swing with strong force. The ball landed perfectly in the center of the court.

Aidan jumps and gets scared due to a bug flying on the court. The bug was a flying night moth.

Aidan tries to hunt down the moth, while Maggie and Aubrey run away from it. The moth kept flying away each time anyone would get closer to it.

Aidan tries to calm everyone else down from being scared of the moth. The debate of whether they should kill it or help it was heavily argued.

The flying moth that interrupted the game. The moth was eventually placed within a safer area.

Aubrey Hardin prepares her back swing to deliver a strong serve. Aubrey is a senior at Georgia Southern University.

Aidan is not too happy with the call that was just made. Aidan hit a shot that dropped just out of the fair ball line.

Aidan remembers that it's just a game and not too serious. "I had a feeling that was not going to go in anyways," said Aidan.

Aubrey and Aidan prepare to return the ball. Aubrey makes sure that Aidan is ready and in the correct position.

Maggie Jaekel swings with her backhand. A two-handed backhand in pickle-ball is very impressive - since it is usually used in tennis.

Aidan gently hits back a dink shot. A dink is considered a shot that is hit near the kitchen area on the court.

Aidan decides to do a ballet move to finish off the shot. Aidan was a dancer for seven years growing up.

Aidan and Aubrey go in for the hand shake to their components. They were never keeping score, so the winner will never be known.

Maggie and Aidan go in for a tight hand shake. The winner of this match is unknown.

Aidan Stacy, Maggie Baker, Maggie Jaekel, and Aubrey Hardin pose for a picture before leaving the court. They are all coworkers at Boro Bagel and are all glad they came to play a quick game together.
