[PHOTOSTORY 4: STRUGGLE] Feed the Boro

Feed the Boro volunteers gather on a chilly Saturday morning. They are getting ready to pass out food to the citizens of Bulloch County.

One of Feed the Boro's sponsors, Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia, donated boxes filled with cans. Volunteers get ready to give one box per meal to each car.

A pile of wrapped bagels waits to be handed out. The bagels are toward the end of the line, so they don't get squished by other items.

Before the cars get moving, a volunteer gathers the others around. He starts to read out the main sponsors and groups that are attending that morning.
Don Poe, the Chair of Feed the Boro, speaks. He thanks everyone who showed up.

On one side, they put heavy crates of items. Funnily, most of the bigger guys gravitate toward this station.

Another sponsor, Shuman Farms, donated lots of onions. The volunteers put several onions in each bag for each meal.

The trailer with the Feed the Boro logo is nearby. This faces the road so that passerbys know what is happening in the parking lot.

The volunteers get into a grove. They know what they are supposed to be doing and some start to stack grates away from the crowd.

One man is in charge of unloading these boxes. He has to use his keys to open them.

The cars continue to move along. They are in two lines to maximize time and efficiency.

A surprising station there, was the station filled with pears. Bags and boxes filled with pears take over a whole parking spot.

Hint water is stacked high. Each car gets a case of water at the end.

The cars continue to roll in. As the morning goes on, everyone gets into a groove and the music starts to play to energize people.

After the cars get all of the food, they leave the parking lot to keep the line moving. Each car gives lots of gratitude to all the volunteers.

The line of cars is wrapped around Statesboro High School. It takes almost 3-4 hours to get to them all.

The community comes together to help combat a big issue in Bulloch County. Each and every single volunteer is helpful and grateful to be helping.

Volunteers wait for the line of cars to start moving. As the sun comes out, it starts to warm up.

The line of cars starts to move in. Feed the Boro volunteers start to guide traffic around the parking lot.
