[PHOTOSTORY 1: OUTDOORS] A Stroll Around M.C. Anderson Park

The M.C. Anderson Park board welcomes visitors with a map of the trail system and surrounding recreational facilities. Clear signage helps students and community members navigate the outdoor complex safely

Student Ellie Foster walks along the fitness trail at Georgia Southern University's Recreation Activity Center (RAC), surrounded by trees and recreational facilities. Foster is taking an afternoon stroll after being at work all day.

Ellie smiles while standing on the fitness trail, enjoying the warm afternoon at the RAC. Ellie said "I am so glad to finally get off work and get some steps in".

Athletic fields stretch across the recreation complex beneath the clouds. It was the perfect day for a walk.

Student Bubba Strowbridge was walking along the trail. Strowbridge said "I decided to come to the RAC to walk and enjoy the nice weather today."

Foster sits on the bleachers overlooking the fields while taking a break in the shade from the heat. Ellie said it was getting a bit too hot.

The tall pines line on one side of the paved walking trails. This creates a nice shady area for visitors to peacefully walk and enjoy the trail.

Student Zachary Owen is seen walking along the trail in the shade. He said "I am taking a break from walking in the hot sun."

Statesboro local Thomas Pinson was walking his sweet dog named Apollo around the track. The RAC is not only for GSU students, it is for everyone!

A Statesboro resident, Jordan Ramsey is seen here doing pull-ups at the exercise station. Zach was getting a quick pump after he walked a few miles.

Ellie is seen again trying to flip the large training tower. She ended up giving up because she said "It felt like it weighed 400 pounds."

Now, Ellie decided to swing from the monkey bars. You can use the equipment around the trail for many different things.

Ellie then went to stop at the drink station for a quick drink of water. This water station helps keep visitors nice and hydrated.

Two friends Anna Brady (Left) and Lyndsay Simpson (Right) were seen taking a stroll.

After walking Ellie wanted to come and sit under the pavillion to scroll on her phone and chill. This place offers a shaded area for students or locals to hangout and take a break.

When walking towards the basketball courts, there was an agave plant to add to the landscaping. The agave plant adds to the outdoor setting.

At the basketball courts was a student names Troy Whitaker practicing his skills. This is another reason why coming to the RAC is great, there is something for everyone.

Lastly, when walking to the car you can see the stand of where the Georgia Southern marching band practices before the games.
