Employees of Astra Construction work on Broughton street. Astra Construction was hired by the City of Savannah to perform renovations and resurfacing of Broughton street.
Cam, the lead team member of the construction team, is hosing down the area to soften the dirt. "We're working on resurfacing the streets and sidewalks so they'll be storm-proof."
Mark, featured left is the leading supervisor of the Astra Construction team. "I don't do anything except make sure everyone else is doing their job and correctly."
Cam is hosing down more of the area. Mark is following one of the team members who came up to ask him a question about his project.

A lot of heavy machinery and generators are needed to power this project. Mounds of dirt and gravel are piled up to install drains before being flattened out.

This is only part of the area construction is being performed. The project began in May of 2020 and phase 1 is only set to finish by August of this year.

Tons of heavy machinery and equipment pile up on the busy Broughton Street. Foot traffic has lessened and stores are worried people don't think they're open.
Another intersection entirely blocked off on Broughton street. Many intersections have turned into 3-way stops while others have been completely cut off.

The construction spans on for blocks on Broughton street and will continue in the months to come. Members of Astra Construction plan to finish this block by August and continue construction of 4 more blocks to Drayton street.
