[PHOTOSTORY 1: OUTDOORS] Summer Tennis Lessons

Mouse Hook looks across the tennis court at the Forest Heights Country Club while waiting for her tennis lesson to start. Mouse is the head tennis instructor at the country club located in Statesboro, Georgia. 

Elle Hook waits for her grandmother, Mouse Hook to serve her the tennis ball at the Forest Heights Country Club. Elle helps her grandmother give tennis lessons at the country club occasionally. 
Elle Hook prepares to hit the tennis ball back over the net to her grandmother, Mouse. "I like to help my grandmother warm up for her tennis lessons, because it helps me practice my tennis skills as well," said Elle. 
Elle Hook leaps across the court to try and hit a tennis ball served over the net by Mouse. "Getting to spend time on the tennis court with my granddaughter makes my day," said Mouse. 
Mouse Hook gives instructions to her students during a private tennis lesson at Forest Heights Country Club. Mouse has been giving private lessons at the club for over 35 years.
Mouse Hook shows the girls at her private tennis lesson how to properly toss a tennis ball. "I am very hands on with my students when I give lessons," said Mouse.
Mason (right) and Merritt Chance (left) watch as their tennis instructor Mouse Hook teaches them how to do what she calls "ups". "Ups" is a technique where a tennis player continuously tries to bounce a ball up with their racket. 
Merritt Chance practices a tennis technique that she refers to as "downs" during her private tennis lesson. "Downs" is when a tennis player uses their racket to continuously bounce a tennis ball between the court and their racket. 
Mouse Hook helps Merritt Chance bounce a tennis ball on her racket to help teach control. "Merritt is one of my best tennis players. A lot of the technique comes naturally to her," said Mouse.

Merritt Chance gets ready to hit a tennis ball as her coach Mouse Hook stands closely by. "I like to play tennis with my sister," said Merritt. 
Mouse Hook assists Merritt Chance on her serve during her private tennis lesson. A serve is a crucial part of tennis, because it is the skill in which puts a ball into play.
Mouse Hook critiques Merritt Chances' technique before tossing her another tennis ball. "Miss Mouse helps me learn how to play tennis good," said Merritt.  
Mason Chance keeps her focus on the tennis ball as she tries to hit it over the net with her racket. According to Mason's mom Shannon, this is only Mason's fifth tennis lesson ever.
Mason Chance smiles after hitting a tennis ball over the net. "I love playing tennis with Miss Mouse," said Mason. 
Merritt Chance practices her tennis skills by hitting a tennis ball with her racket. Merritt is a member of the Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Georgia and takes tennis lessons at the club every Thursday with her sister. 
Merritt Chance reaches high in the air to hit a tennis ball at her lesson. This technique in tennis is called an overhand hit. 
Merritt Chance shows off her serve while her mom, Shannon and coach, Mouse watch closely behind. "Merritt has improved so much in such a short time by taking lessons with Mouse. I am so proud of all of her hard work," Shannon Chance said.
