Katie notifies local residents of the upcoming move-out day. Katie Grace is the Assistant Manager for a local student housing community in Statesboro, Georgia.
A board is hung on the wall in a secured room for an organized layout of keys. There is actually a coded system to find the correct key number, this is to help reduce the risk of someone outside of their team knowing what a key opens.
Katie is excited that she gets to take the golf cart out for a spin to do a pre-inspection. There will be over 400 people moving into the community in just a few short weeks.
Katie uses an iPad to upload photos of areas that need attention. This is the first of many walk-throughs to deem a home move-in ready!
Heading back to the office, Katie notifies residents of a temporary pool closure for service and cleaning. Luckily, there are several pools to choose from in this community!
Back in the office, Katie scans any inspections into the computer for quick and easy access. Katie informed that this printer can be temperamental when it is being used so frequently, but that patience is key!
Katie uses the most satisfying office tool of them all, the stamp indicating completion. Next is to store the real-life version for when technology is difficult.
The documentation is distributed to the necessary files. Each home is within its own file which helps to keep up with a hard copy of any documents a resident might need.
Extra cleaning supplies are ordered for the turnover process. These are products that are used in the final inspection of the home to re-fresh after the cleaning team, right before move-in day.
An inventory is taken as well as organized to make room for all of the new paint coming in soon! These buckets can provide quite the workout when they are full.
Katie takes a quick break to hydrate after organizing supplies. There will be plenty of walks around the 20-acre property in one day during the turnover process.
A meeting is held with the grounds team to prepare for a major infill project. This will ensure that the flowers are nice and bloomed to welcome all the new residents home on move-in day.
Service Manager Chris inspects the filtrations used on the water fountains to make sure they are squeaky clean. Even the little things need upkeep to provide the ultimate comfort.
The team begins to cut keys for move-in day. Front door locks are changed and new keys are made for each incoming group of roommates.
Welcome Home folders are filled with useful information to provide for each new resident. These folders include important numbers, detailed community information, and a list of frequently asked questions to help relieve stress from moving somewhere new.
Promo items for the move-in day are stored out of the way. These items include things like hats, water bottles, and sunscreen.
Packages for residents are securely stored away until they return! "So many cute decor items start coming in around this time, it is so exciting to see residents eager to add some style to their homes," said Katie.
Katie updates the leasing board to let the team know there are only 10 spots left until 100% occupancy! Keeping a countdown helps the team keep the end goal in mind.
Katie celebrates a successful day before leaving the office. The team will work every day through mid-August to ensure a good experience."It's all worth it when I see a resident get excited when I hand them the keys to their new home away from home," said Katie.
