[PHOTOSTORY 1:OUTDOORS] Wendy attends the annual Geranium Festival

 By: Gracie James

Locals of Henry County and the surrounding counties spend their Saturday morning at the Geranium Festival. This is an annual festival held every year in the square of McDonough Georgia.

Wendy checks out one of the booths at the festival. The whole square is lined with miles of different booths set up alongside the road.

Wendy checks out the plants at her first stop of the morning. The booths lining the streets vary from shopping, to plants, to all sorts of food and drink.

Wendy is on a mission to find her favorite booth of the festival each year. She explains that she supports them every year she comes.

Wendy finds the booth she was looking for. She gets a new wreath each year to go on one of her outside doors.

The wreaths are on display for everyone to see. They ranged in so many different colors and sizes.

Wendy continues to look at the Fourth Of July wreath. She ended up getting it along with a larger one for her front doors.

Wendy takes me to a booth she knows the class will like. I explained to her how I study at Georgia Southern University.

Wendy is happy to show off both the GSU and Braves door signs. This booth had signs for multiple different schools and organizations from across Georgia.

Wendy checks out another awesome booth. This seller had handmade bird houses with so many cool designs.

Wendy passes by the Giggity Hot Dawg food truck. This was one of the many options to eat at throughout the day.

Wendy stops at a booth with home decor. "This would match my living room perfectly but my husband wouldn't be happy if I bring home any more decorations," said Wendy.

A local Booth showcases handmade earrings. These ranged from $12-$20.

Wendy moves down to the handmade necklaces. The booth had everything from earrings, to necklaces, to watches, and more.

Wendy laughs about how she is a sucker for buying things she doesn't need at the Geranium Festival. "I just can't say no, I will come up with a reason I need these," Wendy joked.

Wendy pushes a wooden toy down the street. She ended up buying this for her grandson who recently turned one and started walking.

Wendy looks at bracelets at a new booth. This shop was giving all the color.

Wendy picks the light pink bracelet. "I'm a big fan of pink, I might be worse than my teenage daughter," said Wendy.

The booth shows off their T-Shirts. They had kid sizes all the way up to 4XL.

Wendy heads back to her car after a long morning of shopping. The Geranium Festival was a success for yet another year in McDonough Georgia.
