[PHOTOSTORY 3: ADITL] A day of celebration

Airman Judy Campbell is a personnelist at Joint Base Charleston, SC. She is in charge of the day to day activities as it refers to her unit.


Airman Campbell starts off her day by signing in members. This is her third year being a personnelist and in charge of her office.


Airman Campbell is decorating her office for her coworkers retirement ceremony. "One thing I always like to do is take care of those who have taken care of me".


Once Airman Campbell gets settled she begins to check her emails for the day. "A tip to being successful is staying ahead of the game at all times".

Airman Campbell is in charge of reviewing all the awards before they are printed. She thoroughly reads them to make sure they are free of grammatical errors.

Airman Campbell is testing the printer to make sure the awards print out nice. "It is better to make mistakes on regular paper before printing them out on the official paper".

Airman Campbell inspects all awards to make sure they are correct. She is in charge of printing decorations for three different units.


Airman Campbell is also in charge of making sure members get their physical decoration. "I like to personally hand members their decorations so I know that they have receive them"


Airman Campbell is taking inventory of the uniforms she has at her office. "It is better to have more than enough uniforms than to not have any at all".


Airman Campbell is getting all the party supplies together for a retirement party. "My favorite part of a retirement ceremony is getting to see the members face light up when they see everybody coming to support them"



Airman Campbell is checking her email to see if she has any additional task they need to get done. She does this periodically throughout the day so she can stay on top of things.


Sergeant Terry Williams is setting up decorations before a retirement ceremony. "I love helping out anyway that I can especially when it comes to people I work with".


The Color Guard is getting into line before the ceremony starts. They are usually required for any promotional or retirement ceremony.



The Color Guard is starting off the ceremony. Presenting the Colors is a military tradition dating back to the beginning of the United States of America.


Colonel Joshua Homes is reading off the biography for one of his members. "I take great pride in making sure our members are represented well".


Master Sergeant Sherrell Klein is being pinned on by Colonel Homes. Sergeant Klein has served 25 years in the military.
Colonel homes is presenting Sergeant Klein with the Meritorious Service Award. It is common for the award to be read aloud in front of the audience.

Sergeant Williams is presenting Sergeant Klein family with flowers. "We often times recognize the families for the sacrifices they have endured as well".


Sergeant Klein is being presented with an award from her unit. They are all very emotional to see her leave.
Sergeant Klein is finally able to go home after the ceremony is over. "It has been a great ride and I have enjoyed every minute of it. I would not a trade this experience for the world".
