By: Caleb Cook
Riley Caines (left) and Zane Trower (right) are assistant equipment managers for the Georgia Southern football team. They help provide the team with equipment and handle the players' problems with the equipment.

These are towels for the players. There are over 100 players on the team, and each of them gets two towels that are washed every day.

These boxes are stacked at the top of the room. The equipment room is filled with boxes of jerseys, gear, pads, and whatever else a football player needs

Trower is putting the towels in the dryer. They just got done in the washing machine.

Trower puts the workout clothes that the players wear in the dryer. Each player receives a loop that holds their clothes together so they don't get separated during the washing process.

The clothes are spinning in the dryer. There are several large dryers and washing machines in the equipment room.

These are the practice pants players wear. They have already been washed and won't be used again until summer practice starts.

Trower sets the dryer's settings. Every day the equipment staff washes over 100 loops of clothes and 200 towels.

Trower is placing a towel into a player's cubby. When a player's clothes are done washing and ready for them, they get place dint heir cubby.

A towel is in this cubby. Usually, when the player arrives he'll have a loop and a towel in here because he worked out the day before.

These are the baskets that players put their laundry in. After workouts and practice, players throw their loops and dirty towels in these baskets.

These are different magnets placed on the door that signify what type of gear the team is wearing at practice. Different days see different pads worn.

These are the players' cubbies. They usually correspond with their locker number.

This is s sewing machine. A player's name is put on the back of their jersey using this machine.

These are face masks. They go on the helmets each player wears.

These are a part of the director of equipment Andy Harris' helmet collection. He collects them from the places he has been and from other people.

Caines is using a heat press machine to put a player's number on their compression shorts. He is a newcomer and just started working here.

There are several heat press machines in the equipment room. They are used on many pieces of gear such a shirts, tights, and socks.

These footballs have been sanded down. This is a common practice with brand-new footballs.

This is a display of helmets and cleats this team has worn. Some of the helmets are old, but all the cleats have been issued since this previous year.
