Jada, a Georgia Southern student, works at the Copper Beech leasing office. She is completing some last minute tasks before her shift ends.
It's about that time of the year where residents who have not renewed their lease, must move out. "We're a lot busier around this time of year," Jada says.
A resident comes to the office to pay her rent. Residents can choose to pay using the Resident Portal app or by Money Order.
After receiving payments from residents, all deposits are placed in the dropbox. Only employees are allowed access to that area.
Jada is nearing the end of her shift. She checks the weekly schedule to see when her next day in the office is.
Tionna, a Georgia Southern student, comes back from her break. Jada is filling her in before she leaves for the day.
A resident comes in to receive a package. All residents are required to show a form of ID in order to receive packages.
Tionna retrieves the package for the resident. "For it to have been just a phone case, that's a big bag to put it in," Tionna laughed.
Tionna makes phone calls to future residents. "Preparing for move in can be so hectic," Tionna said.
Anna, an employee at Copper Beech, is in charge of making sure residents are up to date on payments. Residents have until the 3rd of each month to pay their rent in order to avoid late fees.
Anna is putting back the cleaning items. The model unit gets cleaned nearly everyday.
Tionna restocks the first aid kit. "A resident came in earlier from the pool and asked for bandaids," she said.
Tionna gets a phone call. "Someone wanted to know when our clubhouse hours were," she said. All residents have 24 hour access to the clubhouse with their keycard.
Tionna is printing a QR code for the model unit. Future residents can scan the QR code to take them to the Copper Beech rental application.
Tionna unlocks the door to the model unit. The model unit is located across from the leasing office.
Tionna places the new QR code back onto the counter. "This one should work better," she says.
Tionna admires the decorations in the model unit. "I'm always in awe whenever I walk through here. I wish I could decorate my apartment this cute," she says.
Tionna turns off the lights throughout the unit. Before the office closes, the employees are responsible for making sure that everything is turned off in the model unit.
Tionna makes sure everything is in order in the bedrooms. "Sometimes during tours, people like to look at the different decorations," she said.
Tionna returns the keys to the model unit back on the rack at the leasing office. "Only one more hour before we close," she says.
