[PHOTOSTORY 2: MOTION] Shots Up At The Gym

 By: Camden Lang

The RAC on campus was dead. Tyler Baker was there finishing up his workout by putting up some shots.

Baker pulls up for a corner mid-range shot. He explained he always shoots around after using the workout equipment in the room next to the gym.

Baker dribbles between the legs for another step-back shot. He likes step-back shots from anywhere on the court.

Baker shoots another step-back. This time he was closer and able to put up more of a floater.

Baker picks up his dribble to drive in for a lay-up. He said he had been shooting for about an hour when I got there.

Baker jumps up for his best attempt at a dunk. "I'm going to be able to dunk at some point, I swear," he joked as he missed the dunk.

Baker tosses in a lay-up. He missed some easy lay-ups in the shoot around, but blamed it on "fatigue."

Baker goes up for another dunk attempt. He was unsuccessful again.

Baker's three-pointer swishes in. He made most of the three's he shot during the photoshoot.

Baker flies up to catch his rebound for a put-back. He banked this shot in with his right hand.

Baker goes up for a jelly lay-up. The "jelly" lay-up was popularized by Michael Jordan when he played in the 90s.

Baker comes down off the rim. He was showing ability to dunk, but with the ball he loses the vertical he needs to get it in.

Baker shoots a deep three. We talked about the NBA Playoffs taking place at the moment, he is hopeful the Knicks win their first finals in almost two decades.

The ball covers Baker's face as he chases his rebound. The ball fell right in front of me when I snapped this shot.

Baker catches his rebound under the rim. He said he likes shooting hoops at the RAC over the summer because it is less crowded compared to the fall and spring semesters.

Baker crosses between his legs before going up for a lay-up. He talked towards the end about his playing days in high school.

Baker finishes up his shoot around with some three-pointers. He had hit three in a row before missing this shot.

Baker's final shot goes in nothing-but-net. "Always gotta end with a make," said Baker.
