Georgia trains most days at the Georgia Southern gym also known as the RAC. Georgia has been training here for the past three months as she gets ready for her first HYROX race in September.
Georgia walks into the RAC to begin her training session. She tries to workout or get some movement in everyday to prepare herself for her race.
Georgia checks into the RAC before starting her workout. She told me that she tries to follow a constant training schedule to stay on track.
Georgia grabs a towel before she begins her workout. She tries to always make sure to grab one in case she needs to wipe her sweat mid-workout.
Georgia warms up before the workout before getting into any intense training. She does this to prepare her body and make sure she does not hurt any muscles.
Georgia makes sure her shoes are tied and ready before her workout. Doing this before hand make's sure she stays focused during the workout.
Georgia begins her first workout which is abs. She tries to combine all different types of workouts into her training plan.
Georgia grabs weights as she begins a strength exercise. Strength is a big part of her training plan she told me.
Georgia is doing weighed squats in this photo. Each workout is specific to train what she thinks is most important.
Georgia is concentrating as she moves through a really tough arm workout. She tries to stay focused and locked in throughout each set.
Georgia moved to another workout at the gym which is also an intense arm workout. She mentioned to me she has been focusing on arms a lot lately.
I took a close up shot of some of the equipment Georgia uses throughout the workout. The RAC provides really nice equipment for students.
Georgia does intense physical workouts like burpees to prepare for these movements she will be doing during the race. HYROX races are extremely challenging and competitive.
Georgia has to take rests between sets, because it is very intense. Taking these short breaks are good to prepare for the actual race.
Georgia makes sure to take water breaks frequently between sets. Staying hydrated is very important to staying healthy during this training period.
Georgia is finishing the last workout of her training for the day. Every workout she does brings her closer to being prepare for her race in September.
Georgia makes sure to wipe down the equipment she uses after her sets. Cleaning equipment is some of the rules the RAC enforces for students.
She makes sure to throw away her towels that she uses throughout the workout. Leaving the gym as clean as you found it is really important she tells me.
Georgia finished up her workout and walks towards the exit. She is proud of herself for completing another HYROX training workout.
She told me everyday is challenging but she will continue to show up for herself. She hopes all her training will prepare her for the big race in September.
