Jessica Marshall is setting up her materials to paint a drawing she just finished. " I like to paint outside. It gives me a sense of calmness."
Jessica is pouring out different colors for her to use for the painting. Jessica gets a lot of painting and color ideas from Pinterest.
Jessica is about to start painting the apple in drawing a specific shade of red. Jessica normally paints 2-3 times a week.

| Jessica mixes red and a little black to darken the color of the apple. "I simply like dark colors, that is why I went this route for this painting." |

Jessica Marshall is smiling at the camera after I asked her a question. "Painting is sometimes a stress reliever for me, I have become so fond of the hobby."
Jessica uses the skinny brush to touch up the outer lines of the drawing. Jessica likes to do the outlining of the drawing before she does the inside of the drawing.
Jessica is finishing the outlines of the drawing and poses for a picture. Jessica has been drawing and painting for the past three years.
Jessica prepares to switch brushes to start outlining the inside of the apple. "I haven't decided a specific color for the inside of apple just yet."
Jessica changes positions to get a better look at the lines of the drawing. "I like to look at the painting closely to make sure I do not mess up the outlines."
Jessica rinses her current paintbrush. Jessica often rinses her brush even when she keeps painting with the same color.
Jessica is opening a different paint tube for the inner part of the apple. " I decided to go with a lighter color in the middle to help make the painting look brighter."
Jessica starts to paint the subjects drawn on the inside of the apple. "I have to stretch my legs, they were cramping."
Jessica continues to paint the inside of the apple. "The inside of the apple has like plants, mushrooms, and trees."
Jessica decides to do touch-ups on a previous painting. "I think out of all my paintings, this one would have to be my favorite. I was one of the first ones I completed."
Jessica takes the brown from the paint tube to repaint the back of the woman's neck. "I normally do touch-ups to make sure the painting is still intact."
Jessica starts to repaint the brown on the woman's neck. "I hope I can get the same shade of brown, so I do not mess up the whole painting."
