Cypress Bong, 17, is having a track meet. Her team is competing at Woodland High School as they are preparing for regionals.
After they warm up, they go through the gameplan. The racers are placed in their positions on the block.
And we are off, Cypress Bong recieves the baton and is in the lead. The lead is not comfortable yet because everyone is still neck and neck.
She maintains the lead as she hits the curve. This is the last curve before the finish line.
Now she is neck and neck with an opponent in the middle lane. It looks like we have a race.
She crosses the finish line in first place. She was able to maintain the lead for her team.
Cypress meets up with her teammates after the race. There is no time to celebrate as there is still one more race for Cypress.
Cypress and one of her teamates decide to go get something to eat. You cannot compete on an empty stomach.
Cypress final event was the 100 meter dash. From the start it looks as if she had the upper hand against her opponents.
She maintains her first lead pace. She is now a third of the way to victory.
The teammates of the opponents try to boost their peers to catch up. Little do they know, they are no match for the leader.
It appears that Cypress has won the race for her team. Her coach meets her at the finishline to congratulate her on a good race.
It is nothing but smile for Cypress as she walks to great her family. She is more than pleased with her results for the day.
Even bigger smiles arise as Cypress finds out she had a personal record time at today's race. She is now has the 3rd fastest time in her county.
Cypress and her mom has nothing but smiles after the day's performance. It is now time to go home and rest.
