[Photostory 3: ADITL] Alumni owned business

 

 Georgia southern alum, Tyler Brands sells a vintage crown royal windbreaker. He and his co-owner Johnny Mcfadden opened The Archive Boro in 2024.
Brands steams a vintage University of Georgia Crewneck. "You gotta steam the clothes, no one wants a wrinkled shirt."- Brands 


Brands looks for a size 9 vintage pair of jordans for a customer. Brands has a passion for shoes of all kinds vintage or not. 


Brands packs a online order. Archive ships vintage clothing all over the united states, Brands is in charge of packaging and sending out these orders. 

Brands sets out Archives street sign. "Man you gotta let the people know where to get the sick gear."-Brands


Brands help return customer Caleb Pickhart pick out the perfect pair of vintage shoes. "The most important part of my job is talking to customers and helping find the perfect pieces to add to their closet."-Brands


Brands helps Pickhart pick a top from their 5$ pile. Archive has two discounted piles with a wide variety of clothes to pick from, one pile is 5$ and the other is 10$.


Brands invites Pickhart to be in their "outfit of the day" content for social media. "social media is a big part of the job, we try to shoot videos and photos daily to give our customers updates and information on the store"- Brands 


 Brands shops online for vintage pieces. He finds most of his inventory on Facebook Marketplace, Etsy, and depop.


Brands tries to sell Pickhart a vintage movie poster. "Man what a great pull if you've never seen Brother Bear you're missing out.- Brands


Brands pulls out the purple phone. this phone is used as a clicker to count the foot traffic to sales.


Brands rearranges the Michael Jordan stand. He switches out the posters and the shoes in the window every day. 


Brands sits and talks to regular customers on his couches. "Most of the time we just sit and chat, its important to create a community in here, makes work feel less like work"- Brands


Brands switches out a shirt on the chain fence. He switches the shirts every time he finds a rare piece or a favorite piece of his.


Brands puts on a vintage film every day. "Matt makes us these vintage playlists with films commercials or videos theres like 100 hours on here" - Mcfadden


Brands folds Pickharts new shirts. He met his co-owner when they moved in together freshman year, they became best friends over their shared love of vintage clothing and style.


Brands vacuums the rug in the seating area. "Man even this vacuum is vintage or its just old"- Brands



Brands picks out a new album to play on his record player. When you walk into Archive your hit with the familiar vintage feel, it feels like a bedroom from 2000s.

Brands sets out new inventory. Archive is set up by color and size, it took months to get the inventory to where it is and its growing. 
Brands points out new inventory of shoes. He can name every shoe and year that its made on this wall, he knows exactly how much these shoes are worth off the top of his head.
